Any document issued in the US must be authenticated by a Chinese Consulate in order to be used in China. What the Consulate authenticates is the signature and stamp of the Secretary of State’s office by adding its own sticker to your documents. The content of your documents will not be changed.
Types of Consulate Authentication Documents:
The Consulate classifies documents as one of the following two types:
- Personal documents: authorization, birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc.
- Commercial documents: articles of incorporation, bank verification letter, letter of appointment, cooperation agreement, etc.
Process Time for Regular Services (Excluding Holidays):*
- 12-15 business days if authenticated by the Consulate only or 21-30 business days if authenticated by local, state, and the Consulate General.
Fees for Regular Services: (A+B+C)*
A. Service: New York $85 for personal/$210 for commercial if authenticated by the Consulate General only; $140 for personal/$285 for commercial if authenticated by local, state, and the Consulate General; Washington D.C. case by case

We accept Zelle, Venmo, Paypal (extra 3.5% fee), money order, and bank check ($50 fine per returned check).
*We also provide (minimum 2 documents if the state authentication is needed):
- Express service: 9-11 business days, $175 extra service charge per document
- Rush service: 6-8 business days, $265 extra service charge per document
